STAR After School

STAR is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is committed to offering extended enrichment programs, to supporting and enhancing school curriculum, and to expanding the cultural base of young people through innovative, quality programs offered by exceptional instructors. STAR partners with Marquez Charter Elementary to offer two educational and enrichment programs to students on campus: Galaxy and NOVA.

 

STAR Galaxy is offered August through June, from the end of the school day until 6pm. Students participate in study hall, sports/fitness/recreation, arts, and other enrichment. To register for STAR Galaxy, please visit the STAR website. Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is now available! Galaxy will run August 14th 2023 - June 11th 2024.

 

HYPE - Helping Young People Excel. HYPE is for 3rd-5th grade students in the Galaxy Program to learn leadership skills and prepare for middle school. Students will learn to Excel in their academics, Excel in their community, and Excel in becoming responsible young adults. Community Outreach Opportunities: HYPE film, student jobs, teaching their interests peer-to-peer, mural art, and more!

 

STAR Nova offers enrichment classes that take place once a week, which are offered Monday through Friday. This allows for a more individualized experience tailored to the specific needs and interests of each student. The wide range of Nova classes includes such offerings as Science, Sports, Rock STAR, Lego © Robotics, Sewing, Visual Arts, Woodworking, and more!

STAR Camps at Marquez

STAR is offering Camps for the following breaks. Check out starinc.org to register for these camps. Camps run from 9 AM - 3 PM with options for extended care from 8 AM - 9 AM and 3 PM - 6 PM.

Thanksgiving Break - Monday November 20 - Tuesday November 21, 2023

Winter Break - Monday December 18 - Thursday December 21, 2023 and Tuesday January 2 - Friday January 5, 2023

Spring Break - Monday March 25 - Friday March 29
